Disney's Brave

Earlier we told you about the release of Disney Pixar’s Brave, no that we have had a chance to view it here’s a little review (no spoilers just one reviewers thoughts on the movie).

Before watching Brave I was given the warning that the accents were rather thick and made the film hard to follow. (No other spoilers which was good.)

The person that told me that wasn’t far off the mark. (I watch a lot of BBC America and other foreign TV and films some of which are of the Scottish variety so it wasn’t too terribly difficult, but I can see how it would be, especially for children.)

The story itself is endearing, but not quite up to Disney standards at least not in this reviewers eyes. Although it is definitely one to add to any Disney film collection for sure.

I have never been one for watching extras, deleted scenes etc on the discs, but for some reason I actually watched the special features on this DVD. Rather interesting to see the rough drawings and deleted scenes as well as seeing the actors in Scotland. (That’s pretty cool that even voice actors get to delve into their characters on that level.

Our final run down of the film…

Stories pretty good. No one breaks out into song. The animation is nice (even though we prefer a slightly more cartoony feel to humans in cartoons –trying to make humans too human in CGI doesn’t work for me). The accent can get in the way of the story (but repeated watchings should clear that right up).

Overall it is a pretty good film and should be added to your holiday wishlist or run out and get it when it hits the shelves tomorrow.
