I hate that my coverage this year is restricted to the only day I could attend (thank you very much familial obligations). To top it off the only day I could attend was Friday.

Fridays are not typically the best days if you are going to see the pop culture icons and get autographs. Nearly all of those booths were empty.

Wizard World Philly 2013Fridays are great to get yourself registered early and shop (you will beat the crowds and get first crack at the cool merchandise), head to panels and events only held on that day or to simply experience the floor without being trampled. Since the floor isn’t busy you can get a good look at the cool vehicles that usually make the events.

There were a few cos-players out and about. Most notable for me were the three girls dressed as Elsa, Anna and Kristoff from Frozen (sorry my photos did not really turn out this year).

My greatest disappointment (besides missing out on Whoopi and Matt Smith) were the apparent lack of ANY science fiction clubs this year. Apparently Wizard World in the infinite grab at money has done away with clubs and non-profits being able to have tables at the events. Sad, as this was an area I always liked to visit and have even joined a club or two because I met them at Comic Con.

So while Wizard World is usually very awesome, this year was a big let down for me (but most of that was my own fault). I had heard from friends that were able to make the con on Saturday and/or Sunday and they said the show was great and that I really missed out on Whoopi’s panel. *sad face*
