Polka Spot: My Life in PicturesBeekman 1802 has been called “one of the fastest growing lifestyle brands in America” by NASDAQ and one look at the way they produce beautifully conceptualized products will tell you why.

“The Beekman Boys” have won this season’s Emmy Award winning CBS program “The Amazing Race”, have their own reality show on the “Cooking Channel” and a line of best selling books.  Now, the dynamic duo along with their famed llama break into the comic book world this week with the release of “Polka Spot: My Life in Pictures”.

Bluewater Productions is giving this larger-than-life personality a brand new comic series titled “Polka Spot: My Life in Pictures.” The all-ages comic was co-written by Bluewater President Darren G. Davis, Michael Troy and the Beekman Boy himself, Brent Ridge. Talented artist, Bernat, created Polka Spot’s vibrant art.

The comic book is about Polka Spot who has traveled the world as a fashion model, pop superstar, movie star, magazine editor, diplomatic problem-solver, and general global icon. She goes where no llama has gone before. Her life in pictures is worth a million words. And every ONE is massively important.

“The Beekman’s do nothing small and I learned this with the announcement of the Polka Spot comic book by ringing the NASDAQ bell during Fashion Week in NYC.  The comic book cover was broadcast to all today in Time Square over the seven story tall NASDAQ video monitor,” said publisher Darren G. Davis.

The Polka Spot character has already been signed to licensing agency Brand Central. She has told them, “I want to be the next Hello Kitty.”

“Polka Spot has long held a deep-seated, love/hate relationship with Hello Kitty.  I guess you could say that they are “frenemies”, and now with the launch of her own fashion website, prettypolkaspot.com, and the first of her graphic novels, Polka Spot is ready to make her move.” said Brent Ridge.

“Of course, she will be eternally grateful for Kitty for paving the way–just like Paris Hilton did for Kim Kardashian,“ continued Ridge.

Polka Spot has already been mentioned in People magazine and has thousands of followers on Twitter (@llamapolkaspot) Facebook (PolkaSpot) and on Pinterest. Her website, prettypolkaspot.com launched in December and is “Where Everything Pretty is Spotted” and her first iPhone app is now taking her all around the world.

In the rare moments that Polka Spot has any down time, she lives at home with Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, better known as The Beekman Boys, on their farm in Sharon Springs, NY.

“Polka Spot: My Life in Pictures.” #1 will be available in print for $3.99 at Comic Flea Market: http://bit.ly/NkPm2H
