Like I said before the Philly Comic Con had TONS of vendors and that’s where you had to buy your swag. Although when you first walked in you were handed a bag with a few things in it.

What we get in the bag? A deck of Magic the Gathering cards, an issue of ToyFare magazine, an issue of Wizard magazine (both of which tease us with comic cons in other cities) and a few hundred of us lucky bastards got Sideshow Collectible gift cards (a $30 value good for any purchase on their website).

But where are the exclusive toys and action figures? Last time we attended one of these things toy companies were here in the vendor area offering up exclusives or just here showing us what was coming up. I know companies like Palisades are long gone, but why no Diamond Select? Or even EMCE Toys? Or Shocker Toys? It does not need to be someone big like Hasbro or Mattel (although they would have been nice too) just someone, anyone.

Or do those toy companies only care about the BIG shows like San Diego Comic-Con?

In my past experience with this con (many years ago) I had a blast running around buying up exclusive toys from Palisades and Diamond Select Toys for my friends online who could not make the event.

Apparently Hasbro and Mattel had exhibits although this reporter never saw them. Where were they if not in the main room with the vendors and talent? I think there may have been a panel, but who wants to attend a panel? (As you can tell not me and I totally missed it if there was indeed one.)
