About Team Unicorn

Team Unicorn is a multi-media production team formed in Los Angeles, California in 2010. Its members are Michele Boyd (The Guild), Clare Grant (Walk the Line), Milynn Sarley (Attack of the Show!), and Rileah Vanderbilt (Frozen). The group released their debut parody song “G33K & G4M3R Girls” online in September 2010. The music video, spoofing Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” was filled with geek cultural references and pays tribute to women who love gaming, manga, sci-fi and many other genre related topics. The video reached one million views in its first week online and stirred controversy over its sexy portrayal of geek girls.  Team Unicorn has since released a 1950’s industrial spoof “A Very Zombie Holiday” as well as a comedic eHarmony commercial parody entitled “superHarmony” on their YouTube channel.

Representing the idea that “like unicorns, geek girls aren’t supposed to exist”, the views of Team Unicorn’s projects has increased to over five million across multiple platforms. News and blog forums on an international level have paid tribute to Team Unicorn’s projects and fans from all over the world have embraced Team Unicorn’s unique vision. Their song “G33K & G4M3R” Girls has already been made in to a dance remix and played in clubs everywhere, and was organized and used by fans for a flash mob at the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle in March 2011.  The girls are also going to be featured in an upcoming Comic-Con documentary by award-winning director Morgan Spurlock.

  1. Having grown up watching old scifi/horror films and beach party films I found this to be VERY fun. Enjoy!
