ULTRAMARINES™: A WARHAMMER® 40,000® MOVIE Special free fan screenings in US theatres

Starring the voices of Terence Stamp, John Hurt, and Sean Pertwee

(London, UK, February 4, 2011.) ULTRAMARINES: A WARHAMMER 40,000 MOVIE, produced by Codex Pictures, will be screened in select theatres in the U.S. on Saturday and Sunday, February 26th and 27th 2011 especially for the huge following of dedicated Warhammer 40,000 fans. The limited series of free screenings of ULTRAMARINES will take place in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Baltimore, Dallas and Chicago, with a special press event hosted by Tribeca Flashpoint Academy in Chicago.

Saturn Award winning producer, Bob Thompson will attend a series of Chicago area events, including a special presentation and press event at the Tribeca Flashpoint Academy on February 25th, as well as Q&A session after the Saturday, February 26th screening at the Classic Cinemas Charlestowne 18 in St. Charles, IL and after the New York City screening at the Village East Cinema.

Set in the grim, dark far future of the 41st Millennium, ULTRAMARINES marks the first ever feature film based on Games Workshop’s internationally successful tabletop miniature wargame Warhammer 40,000. The film was written by one of the best-selling Games Workshop Black Library authors, Dan Abnett  (2000AD, Marvel Comics and DC Comics) and stars the voices of Terence Stamp (Superman 2, Valkyrie), John Hurt (Alien, Hellboy, V for Vendetta) and Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon, Dog Soldiers) and also includes Steven Waddington (Last of the Mohicans, The Tudors), Donald Sumpter (Being Human) and Johnny Harris (This is England ’86).

ULTRAMARINES is produced by independent production company Codex Pictures in association with Good Story Productions. The team behind ULTRAMARINES were producers of the original trilogy of highly successful and multi award-winning BIONICLE® DVDs, made for the LEGO Company. Aramid Entertainment BV, POP6 Medias Inc, and the Wales Creative IP Fund financed the film. The Canadian co-producer is POP6 Studios.

Bob Thompson is best-known for co-creating the hugely successful BIONICLE® IP for the LEGO Company and producing the original multi award-winning BIONICLE® movies. The founder of Good Story Productions, a film and TV production studio with multi-platform expertise, Bob formerly worked at the BBC and BBC Worldwide.

Founded in 2007, Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy has revolutionized the way students prepare for careers in the fields of digital arts, media and entertainment.
