soft kitty hoodieI first spotted the soft kitty hoody at ThinkGeek.com and then had a chance to see it in person at the Philadelphia Comic Con last year (2011) at the SuperHeroStuff.com‘s ginormous stand.

I think it was at that point that I decided to purchase one for myself, although I did not buy it at the con.

I finally broke down this past week when the fine monkeys over at ThinkGeek.com decided to offer up free shipping as well as having a sale on their hoodies (I also picked up the Zombie Attack Hoodie, which will be reviewed shortly). Well, it looks like I was just in time too as their site is now showing the [amazon_link id=”B006MHW684″ target=”_blank” ]Big Bang Theory’s officially licensed Soft Kitty hoodie[/amazon_link] as out of stock in ALL sizes and both styles. Yay me! I purchased the “men’s” (I would rather call it unisex or just leave off the gender altogether on these) as the [amazon_link id=”B006MIZKC2″ target=”_blank” ]women’s hoodie[/amazon_link] would have been too short in the torso for my liking. Besides I who needs a pink hood lining (not all women like pink).

The unisex version has plenty of length and fits a snugger than other hoodies of the same size on me. I really feel it in the arms. While they are not uncomfortably tight they are tighter than I like and might prove difficult for me if I had another sweatshirt on under the hoodie. The material is a soft poly-cotton so hopefully it will not shrink. (But I hope that I will not have to wash it often so it stays cute for me.)

The mittens that come with the hoodie are there really for added cuteness as I could not see them actually warming your hands in the dead of winter. soft kitty hoodyMine however were sewn off center so I am a bit upset by the fact that the paw pad printing is in the seam (I will contact customer service but since they are out of stock who knows what will happen). Also the button to pin the mittens back while they are attached to the sleeve appears to be down the arm too far causing a big buckle/gap between the mitten and your arm. At some point I will need to move that button closer to my elbow by about 2-3 inches.

The tail is fun but I fear for its safety every time I go to the bathroom. It isn’t long enough to dip into the toilet (at least I don’t think so), but I am not taking any chances. Overall I am very happy with my [amazon_link id=”B007PJVM9W” target=”_blank” ]Soft Kitty Hoodie[/amazon_link].
